The Digital Evidence

My sister died on my wedding day. A week later, one of her friends called me: “She left you a phone and a note. Come to the office immediately!”

My older sister, Claire, and I were never very close. And when I introduced my fiancΓ©, Ryan, to my family, they were cold and distant towards him.

It seemed strange.

During the wedding preparations, Claire stayed away. Then, at my engagement party, she came up to me and said:

“You should cancel the wedding.”

I was angry and demanded that she explain why she said that. She simply replied that she couldn’t explain at that moment, but begged me to cancel the wedding.

Of course, I didn’t.

On the wedding day, the ceremony took place at the church, and then everyone got into their cars to go to the restaurant.

All the guests had already arrived at the restaurant, but Claire wasn’t there.

She didn’t answer the phone.

We waited for more than an hour, and then a police officer called my mother to tell her that there had been an accident. We all ran to the place.

Claire had taken a different route. It started pouring rain and she lost control of the car. It ended up in the water.

The police said they didn’t find her body because the current probably took her away. She wouldn’t have survived an accident like that.

My parents were crying. I was paralyzed, unable to speak.

A week later, I received a call from Megan, Claire’s best friend and coworker. Ryan was working at the time.

It sounded nervous:

“Come to the office immediately. Claire left you a phone and a note!”

I immediately picked up.

I unfolded the note and, as I started reading it, I was shocked:

“Alice, if you’re reading this, it’s time for the truth to come to light. Don’t trust Ryan. Play the last video in this phone.”

A chill ran down my body. I picked up the phone and pressed “Play”….. NEXT BLOW
