Terror Plot Raises Border Security Concerns
Critics of the progressive open-borders agenda point to new federal investigative findings involving the suspected leader of the disrupted terror plot targeting the UFC Freedom 250 event at the White House.
According to the Department of Homeland Security, 31-year-old Abraham Hermosillo Alvarez, an illegal immigrant from Mexico who overstayed his visa, received protection under the Obama administration's DACA program in 2014.
Federal investigators allege that Alvarez, using the encrypted alias "Shepherd," led an anti-government group accused of planning explosive drone attacks and rooftop sniper assaults targeting government officials and attendees at the South Lawn event.
Supporters of stronger immigration enforcement argue that the case reinforces calls for enhanced border security, national security, public safety, immigration screening, and stricter visa enforcement policies.
